We are glad that you have opened this page – this is essential information if you are considering joining us:

One of the major features of volunteering is the absence of compulsion. The commitment is there, certainly, especially on rain-lashed Monday mornings in January – but we offer as much as we can, when we can: there is no competitive pressure.

Despite this, it’s astonishing what we can do working together. There can be a real sense of achievement as we survey our morning’s work and depart for a well-earned lunch.

Volunteer effort is also needed administratively, not least to obtain the grant funding from various bodies towards our many expenses. Do let us know if you are able to offer any administrative or other support.

Over recent years we have extended our portfolio of activities by agreeing with West Oxfordshire District Council to manage woodland areas along Loom Lane and the New River Path, for example.

Volunteering isn’t all about work: we are quite a friendly lot, and programme in trips to various locations of interest and occasional social gatherings. Our shared Christmas lunch is the time to celebrate our work for the year.

We cordially welcome new volunteers who have a couple of hours free on Monday mornings. here

Membership is £8.00 per annum – this includes the insurance cover essential for all our projects.

Our Health and Safety Guidelines are here – please read carefully before completing the membership form which is available here.
